In response to growing concerns from residents about mismanagement within homeowners associations (HOAs), Hialeah Mayor Bryan Calvo has announced the creation of the Condominium and Homeowners Association Advisory Task Force (CHAT). This initiative aims to address issues such as neglected maintenance, unresponsive condo boards, and potential financial misdoings that have been reported by community members.
For years, residents, many of them elderly, have described deteriorating buildings, unresolved maintenance issues, and condo boards they say are unresponsive, raising concerns about upkeep, financial reports, fraud, and other potential misdoings. Residents are encouraged to report any concerns related to their HOAs to the task force, which will work closely with local authorities to ensure that all associations operate transparently and in the best interest of their members.
